Stacy Burgess joined the IWK in 1998 and has held the roles of frontline nurse both in inpatients and clinic, patient safety consultant, manager of Pediatric Critical Care, and Director, Children’s Medical, Critical and Rehabilitation Services. Stacy became the acting VP Clinical Care in 2022. In this role, she uses a co-leadership model which provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for clinical activity, research and education in the acute care, clinical support and primary health programs. Stacy also works with other senior leaders (both in government and DHW) as an IWK representative on various committees, and with various departments and services. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Master of Health Administration and is a Certified Health Executive. She also sits on the Ronald MacDonald House Charities Atlantic Board and the Institute of Public Administration of Canada Board for Nova Scotia.
Stacy hails from Windsor, Nova Scotia. She and her husband, Bradley, have two boys and enjoy spending time in hockey arenas across the province cheering them on from the stands.
