In September 2025, IWK Health was excited to announce the opening of two more Integrated Youth Services sites—in Halifax and Sydney—bringing the total to three sites that are now open.
Thank you to our partners for your hard work on preparing for the launch of these sites, and your continued dedication and collaboration in supporting our communities.
Along with the Anchor Youth Space in Amherst (which opened in April 2025), there are five more sites planned to open across the province, in Bridgewater, Eskasoni (serving youth from six Mi’kmaw communities), Halifax (second site), New Glasgow and Yarmouth.
Anchor Nova Scotia is a one-stop hub that offers young people ages 12-25 and their caregivers health and wellness resources, services and supports. Services include:
- walk-in support - no referral needed
- counselling, peer support, outreach and structured programming for youth and caregivers
- help with life skills, housing, mental and addictions support and services & more
- a safe and welcoming space to connect with peers and support
- group programming (i.e. caregiver groups, life skills groups, yoga classes, discussion sessions, cooking classes, art classes/sessions, resume building, etc.).
See below for a list of sites that are now open, and their locations.
