Provincial Preschool Autism Service

The Provincial Preschool Autism Service is a partnership between IWK Health, Nova Scotia Health, Hearing and Speech Nova Scotia, and Autism Nova Scotia providing services and support for preschool-age children and families across Nova Scotia.

Preschool autism services in Nova Scotia are evolving to support children with autism and their families. The focus is on providing needs-based services, which means that the support offered will be customized to fit the unique strengths, needs, and priorities of each child and family.

Children and families are at the center of what we do, ensuring that the supports provided meet each child’s needs and their family’s priorities. Parents and caregivers know their child best.

SUPPORT ACROSS THE PRESCHOOL YEARS

PPAS OFFERS A RANGE OF SERVICES AND SUPPORTS:

Whether you’re looking for information, making a referral, or have questions, we’re with you every step of the way. Led by IWK Health, the Provincial Preschool Autism Service Clinical Intake and Care Coordination Service is a single point of contact for preschool autism services offered by all Provincial Preschool Autism Service partners – Autism Nova Scotia, Hearing and Speech Nova Scotia, Nova Scotia Health, and IWK Health – for families seeking autism-specific services and supports for their pre-school aged child, including autism assessment.
