The Mental Health Mobile Crisis Team (MHMCT), also known as the Provincial Crisis Line, is a provincial crisis service that serves all of Nova Scotia. The team is only mobile within most communities in HRM, however, can provide interventions to children, youth, and adults provincially. MHMCT is made up of experienced mental health professionals who are available to speak with you about what is happening, offer you support and find out what would be helpful.
Mobile Crisis provides 24/7 telephone support to people of any age who are experiencing a mental health crisis or distress. If in-person crisis intervention is needed, then mobile counselling teams—including social workers and nurses teamed with plain-clothed, specially-trained police officers—can be dispatched based on service acuity within most of HRM daily between 1:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m.
Mobile Crisis is a partnership between the IWK, Halifax Regional Police, Nova Scotia Health, and Emergency Mental Health Services.

There are times when even after talking with our team, things still feel overwhelming and beyond your control. During these times, our team may recommend you go to the IWK Emergency Department to receive further treatment.
