Sara Piracha-McLean has provided consulting services to charities, non-profits and municipal governments across Canada for over 20 years. She is highly skilled in governance, institutional leadership, strategic planning, funding and campaign strategy development, advocacy, communications and marketing.
Born in Fredericton, and having lived in Ottawa, Lusaka and Brockville, Sara moved with her family to Halifax in 2022. A graduate of the University of Ottawa, Sara began her career working in marketing and public relations for the Ottawa Rough Riders Football Club, the Canadian Museum of Civilization, and three technology firms, including Entrust Technologies. In 2002 she began consulting, her expertise strengthened by her community and civic activities. She has proudly served as part of Canada's United Nations Delegation to the World Summit on Social Development and the World Summit for Children. An active volunteer, Sara has served as a member on various boards and committees including the Canadian Coalition for the Rights of Children, the Canada 125 Corporation, the Aga Khan Foundation, the United Nations Rights of Child Caucus, the Ottawa Boys and Girls Club, the YMCA of Brockville and Area, and YMCA Canada. From 2017 to 2022, Sara served as Chair of Governance and Vice Chair of Brockville General Hospital.
