The Perinatal Centre (PNC) helps HRM patients by providing a wide range of services including primary maternity care and high risk/tertiary obstetrical care. PNC is by referral only. To receive prenatal care at PNC, have your primary care provider send a referral.
What to expect
To fully prepare for your appointment, be sure to bring along the following items:
- Your health card
- Your appointment letter
- A list of medications you are taking
- Any medications needed during your visit
- Name and telephone number of your referring physician and/or family physician
- Insurance information
- A list of questions you may have for the physician.
- Note: Please do not bring food if you must fast prior to your appointment.
The PNC care team includes:
- Perinatal nurses
- Physicians (including Family Medicine, Obstetricians, and Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists)
- Clinical nutritionists
- Physiotherapists
- Social workers
There are a number of multidisciplinary specialty clinics that are located in the PNC that help care for higher risk pregnancies, including:
- Diabetes in Pregnancy Clinic
- Maternal Fetal Medicine Clinic
- Newcomer's With Diabetes Clinic
- Dependency and Pregnancy Clinic

Planning your visit? A public parkade is available with access from St. Albans Street, and limited on-street parking may be available nearby. We recommend allowing extra time to park and find your way to the clinic, especially for your first visit.
