John Muir has over 20 years of health system experience gained from the public and private sectors. Starting his career with the Nova Scotia Department of Health and Wellness, he currently works with Medavie Health Services as the Assistant Vice President of Healthcare Delivery Strategy & Business Development based in Dartmouth.
John has a particular interest in how governments organize themselves to deliver health services. Medavie provides a range of emergency and community-based services which has given John exposure to multiple health systems across Canada. In John's role, he has a variety of focus areas including strategic planning, project management, risk management, acquisitions, public sector procurements, performance-based contracts, and value-based care.
John received his Master of Public Administration from Dalhousie University. He is also committed to ongoing professional development completing multiple courses including the Education Program through the Governance Professionals of Canada.
