Centre for Childhood Disability, Health and Wellbeing

The Centre for Childhood Disability, Health, and Wellbeing works to improve the lives of children and youth living with disabilities. The Centre brings together clinicians, faculty, and researchers from IWK Health and Dalhousie to advance inclusive disability research grounded in collaboration. By working closely with children, families, and community partners, our research reflects lived experiences and focuses on what matters most to the community.

The Centre’s work is guided by the International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health framework, which recognizes that health and wellbeing are shaped not only by the body, but also by daily activities, relationships, and environments. Guided by this approach, the Centre focuses on strengths and aims to promote participation, access, and inclusion for all.
