The Atlantic Canada Poison Centre (ACPC) helps by providing a 24-hour telephone consultation service to both the public (including children, youth and adults) and health care professionals. We provide information and assistance regarding exposures or potential exposures to toxins.
The ACPC is responsible for all of Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador. We provide consult services for health care professionals in New Brunswick concerning the management of the poisoned patient in a health care setting.
The Atlantic Canada Poison Centre staff includes:
- 13 Specialists in Poison Information, five of whom are Certified Specialists in Poison Information
- Two Medical Toxicologists
- Five additional Medical Consultants
- Additional External Consultants
