Clinical Genomics

The Clinical Genomics Division provides diagnostic genetic testing for inherited diseases in different medical specialties. Our diagnostic tests are ordered by physicians when there is a suspicion of a genetic diagnosis in a patient or their family members.

Our laboratory provides full-service molecular testing for inherited conditions as well as cytogenetic testing for constitutional and acquired chromosome abnormalities. We provide genetic testing services for the Maritime Provinces and Canada at large. Our team of professionals consists of board certified (ABMG/CCMG) Clinical Laboratory Scientists, Genetic Counsellors, Medical Laboratory Technologists, and Technicians.

Genetic testing must be ordered through a physician and may require a referral to a specialty such as the Maritime Medical Genetics Service.
