The IWK Family Library is Open:
Mondays - Fridays, 9:30am - 5:00pm (*closed weekends/holidays)
The library collection includes hundreds of books (and some videos) about medical conditions, child and youth development, grief and loss, parenting, mental health, newborn care, and women's and maternal health. We can also search for and print/send health articles to you.
The library also lends DVD movies, portable DVD players, picture books, and novels for all ages. We have toys and crayons in a play area.
There is a small multicultural section with some books in Arabic, Simplified Chinese and Mi'kmaq, as well as a larger French section.
The library has a phone charger, and a computer and printer for patient/family use.
How it works
- Patients, families, IWK staff and volunteers may borrow books, movies, and portable DVD players for two weeks. Renewals may be done by phoning 902-470-8351 or visiting in person.
- After hours, most items may be returned in the yellow Returns Box across from the library, next to the Heart & Hearth Café entrance.
