Gina Connell is IWK Health's Chief of Communications, Engagement & Change. Gina holds a Bachelor of Public Relations Degree from Mount Saint Vincent University and a master's Certificate in Organization Development & Change from York University, and she is also an Accredited Business Communicator. She is a Prosci Certified Change Practitioner and holds a Certificate in Psychological Safety from the University of New Brunswick.
Before joining the IWK team in 2015, she held the role of Senior Vice President at m5 Marketing Communications. A seasoned, award-winning communications professional with more than more than 35 years of experience in both private and public sector organizations, Gina’s previous roles include directing communications and marketing teams at Dalhousie Medical School, m5pr, Extreme Group, the Greater Halifax Partnership, and the Halifax International Airport Authority where she oversaw communications during the 9-11 crisis.
Gina lives in Halifax with her husband, Craig, their son, Cole, and their dog, Charlie.
