Jack Killeen

Research Volunteer

Jack is a recent graduate from Dalhousie’s Neuroscience Honours program. He worked with Dr. Thomas and Dr. Pinto at IWK Health on a Diabetes Honours project titled “Diabetes Related Insomnia in Families and Teenagers – Optimising control and Facing Fears (DRIFT-OFF)”. The study investigated sleep disturbances and metabolic outcomes in both children/adolescents with type 1 diabetes and their parents/caregivers as a result of around-the-clock monitoring and treatment of diabetes. Jack is the former President of the Dalhousie Medical Campus Response Team where he developed a passion for harm reduction and grew his first aid skills. In his free time, Jack enjoys going on hikes around beautiful Nova Scotia, listening to music and attending concerts, and spending time with my family. He is currently working at IWK Health’s Emergency Department whilst applying for professional programs.
