MacKayla graduated from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Neuroscience and is in her first year of Medical School. Her Honours thesis examined how circadian rhythms regulate eating using fruit flies as a model organism. She previously coordinated the Sleep for Health Research Centre project, and currently supports Shhh2 and other projects. Neurodevelopmental disorders have always interested MacKayla. She is passionate about reducing barriers to support by creating accessible supports, resources, and programs suitable for neurodiverse populations. In her spare time, MacKayla can be found reading, hiking, or spending time with her dog Harley.
