Tara completed Honours in Psychology at the University of King's College. With a minor in social anthropology, she developed an appreciation for taking a holistic approach to understanding human behaviour. Child development has also always been an interest, particularly in relation to neurodevelopmental disorders. Tara's Honours thesis project focused on identifying barriers and facilitators to accessing diagnostic services for autism spectrum disorder in Indigenous communities in Canada. She also supported a Delphi study of standards to support sleep in hospitals, working with Dr Thomas as a research assistant.
