Please be advised that beginning Wednesday, October 22, 2025 changes will take effect for parking validation at the IWK patient parkade on University Avenue. These updates are necessary to ensure adequate parking is available for patients, families and visitors.
For Patients, Families and Visitors:
- Upon entry into the parkade, a parking entry stub will be issued.
- To receive free parking, the entry stub must be validated at their clinic or care area.
- After hours and on weekends, parking can be validated at the Central Admitting Office on the 2nd floor of the Women’s Building.
Additionally, anyone found to be parking onsite without a valid reason to be at the IWK (excluding staff and physicians) may be subject to a $500 fine and towing at the owner’s expense.
We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we implement these changes to improve access for those coming to the IWK for care and services.
Our multilevel public parkade, located on University Avenue just east of the IWK, is reserved for patients and families at no cost.
There may be limited parking availability within the Parkade and immediate area. Please allow yourself extra time to ensure you are on time for appointments. If it is possible and convenient patients can be dropped at the Women's/Adult entrance before parking the car.
