Learning is a cornerstone of success at the IWK. Our close association with academic centres across the Maritime Provinces and our reputation as a centre of scholarship sets a standard of excellence that is supported in many ways. The Learning & Development Team is structured within the People and Organization Development portfolio and is responsible for the strategic advancement of organizational capacity through the design, development, facilitation and evaluation of centre-wide learning and professional development activities. Learning is fundamental to the IWK Health mission: to passionately pursue a healthy future for women, children, youth and families. We strive to be exceptional collaborators, empowering individuals and teams to be the very best they can be through supportive educational programming and continuous. learning.

The IWK Learning and Development Team demonstrates a wealth of knowledge and expertise in educational and learning design, online learning, simulation-based learning, technical training, organizational development, group facilitation, professional development, interpersonal communication, change management, leadership development, coaching, and mentorship. Learning and Development Team members will work with both individuals and teams to identify specific needs and develop solutions to meet those needs.
