Educational Funding

IWK Health supports employees who demonstrate interest and capacity to pursue furthering learning. Professional Development and career fulfillment is something IWK Health values and for this reason there are opportunities available for funding.

Current formal funding programs include the following:

  • Tuition Loan Program—interest free loans to regular employees to cover tuition costs
  • Conference Presentation Award—funds to support employees and IWK trainees to present health centre research at national and international conferences
  • Ruby Blois Scholarship—an academic scholarship available for graduate studies in nursing
  • Margaret Ferguson Award—funds education for nurses working in women’s and newborn health

In addition, there may be opportunity for funding through specific programs. Employees should discuss these options with their manager/supervisors. For more information on funding programs at IWK Health please contact:
